Frequently asked questions

Does CloudLex integrate with cloud storage software?

+

Yes, you can integrate CloudLex’s matter management software with cloud storage software like Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive.

One Drive
OneDrive is Microsoft’s cloud storage syncing and sharing application, formerly known as SkyDrive. OneDrive lets you store your files online, edit Office documents in the free Office Web Apps, and easily access your online files from your PC, Mac, or mobile. For lawyers, it’s essential always to have access to your documents, and that’s why CloudLex has developed 2-Way Sync with OneDrive to allow users to sync files from CloudLex’s matters to the OneDrive matter folder and vice-versa.

With 2-Way Sync, you can easily access the files while you are on the road. You can collaborate with a partner on the document, and when you are done, changes are reflected in your OneDrive so that everyone has the latest version.

Dropbox
Dropbox is a cloud-based storage service that allows you access to your case documents wherever and whenever you want. With Dropbox integration, sync your files instantly from CloudLex into Dropbox folders under the desired matter and category and vice versa. Rest assured your files always remain up-to-date in CloudLex.

Google Drive
Google Drive has many useful features; chief among them is the ability to edit documents right in your browser using Google Docs. CloudLex provides integration with Google Drive, so you can edit, share, and store documents between the two systems, with changes automatically reflected in both.

What is 2-way sync?

+

With 2-way sync integration, sync your files instantly from any of your storage accounts into CloudLex and vice versa (your files always remain up-to-date in CloudLex). With 2-way sync, you can easily access files while from anywhere you have an internet connection. You can collaborate with a partner on the document, and when you are done, changes will reflect in all your storage accounts so that everyone has the latest version.

What is esign/E-signature /Electronic signature?

+

E-Signature for law firms is a feature for allowing easy, efficient, and secure signing of electronic documents by authenticating the signer.

With this feature, any user can digitally sign an electronic document without having to obtain a physical, digital signature. There will be no need to obtain a Digital Signature Certificate through a printed paper application form with an ink signature and supporting documents. E-Signature shows the signer exactly where they need to sign, sends them the documents securely, stores the signed documents, and tracks their statuses.

Why do I need electronic signature services for my law firm?

+

Electronic signatures offer a way to sign documents quickly and easily from anywhere. Electronic signatures, or eSignatures, are used for many kinds of documents and transactions. Some examples include contracts, loans and leases, engagement letters, orders, and more. Many electronic signature services are top-rated in the business world globally and are becoming increasingly common in the legal industry.

With eSignatures, gone are the days when executing an engagement letter was a time-consuming and expensive proposition. Documents had to be physically printed and sent via overnight courier to your client. Your client then had to execute and send them back to you. Alternatively, the client would have to physically come to your office or someone from your firm would go to them. Either way, it was a time-consuming hassle.

Even better, digital signature services can be automated with smart workflows. Such workflows route documents for signature to the right people, in the right order, at the right time. Attorneys and clients are no longer bound by physical limitations or time-of-day constraints. No more rushing to get a document signed and in the mail by the end of the day. Your clients can sign from their laptop, tablet, or mobile phone while at work, on the go, or just relaxing at home (and so can you). Fully executed documents are delivered to everyone once signed, and copies are kept in your account. It’s an easy win-win for all those involved.
